Q. What is an Air Ambulance?

Aircraft that serves the purpose of airlifting and carrying the patients from one destination to another are equipped with all the medical facilities including medical team, and necessary equipment. Such an ambulance transfer by air transport are called Air Ambulance. Air Medical Services is a comprehensive term covering the use of air transportation, airplane or helicopter, to move patients to and from healthcare facilities and accident scenes.

Q. What is a train ambulance?

Transfer of patients from one destination to another through train (rail) equipped with all the ICU equipments & medical team are called train ambulance.

 

Q. How are patients transferred by train?

In train Ambulance, we transfer the patient in AC III, AC II and AC 1st class. In train mabulance, usually we book minimum 4-6 berth of AC III or AC II tier and convert it into an I.C.U set up by putting all I.C.U equipments like ventilator, cardiac monitor, infusion pump, suction pumps and oxygen cylinders and all other I.C.U equipments. In train ambulance, our two medical persons, one doctor and one paramedical are present on train. In train ambulance, patients are transferred in fully I.C.U environment. Train ambulance is much cheaper in comparison to Air Ambulance. In some cases train ambulance is safer than Air Ambulance because there is no hemodynamic changes during transportation by train. In Air Ambulance during take off and landing of air craft severe hemodynamic changes occurs which does not occur in train ambulance. Even patients on ventillator and high oxygen demand & critical patients can be transferred by train ambulance.

 

Q. What is a ground ambulance?

Transfer of patients from one destination to another through private vehicle equipped with all the necessary medical team and the necessary ICU Components are called ground ambulance.

 

Q. What is commercial Air Ambulance?

In commercial Air Ambulance, different airlines provide facilities for patients transfer from one cities to another cities in India. For this, our company consult the respective airlines and carry out all the formalities, after which private airlines fit medical stretcher in normal plane and allow the patients to travel with other passenger. Airlines take the decision to transfer only the stable patient and those who are fit for fly. Critical ill patients, patient with severe illness, patient on ventillator, bipap or cpap or patient on high-oxygen demand (more than 4 litre per minute) are not allowed.

 

Q. Who needs Air Ambulance?

Air ambulances are needed in those cases which confirms an emergency. If the patients to be referred is in critical situation and is seeking an urgent transfer to a distant far away place, then the situation of Air Ambulance comes.

 

Q. Who needs train ambulance?

Train ambulance are needed when a patients who have to travel a long way. He has got enough time to his doctor. In that case, a patient can opt for train ambulance. Even patients on ventillator and high oxygen demand and critically ill can be transferred by train ambulance. Train ambulance is much cheaper in comparison to Air Ambulance. In some cases train ambulance is safer than Air Ambulance because there is no hemodynamic changes during transportation by train. Q. Can you provide International Air Ambulance evacuations?

Yes, we can. We have the experience of transferring patients abroad all over the world. International Air Ambulance require few days prior information for arranging VISA and all other formalities for international travel.

 

Q. How much time do you need to arrange a train ambulance transfer?

For train ambulance, arrangement time depends on the city where the patients are to be lifted. Usually for few cities like Patna and many other cities requires 4-6 hours prior notice and many city like Guwahati, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, etc requires 1-2 days prior notice.

 

Q. What is required to arrange a train ambulance transfer?

For train ambulance, place a call to our 24 hour dispatch and information center where a Coordinator will walk you through the entire process, patiently answering any questions that you have and providing you with the least expensive solution. Our train ambulance coordinator will ask you a few questions about the patient and then respond to you with a written proposal. The entire process only takes a few minutes. For train ambulance, arrangement requirements are ticket booking for the train & reaching the medical team to the patient’s place. Time duration depends on the time of booking of train ambulance and reaching time of medical team at your place.

 

Q. How much time do you need to arrange an Air Ambulance transfer?

That is a nice question. Most transfers are arranged and scheduled a few hours in advance. When there is the emergency transfer that needs to go quickly. Typically, the Air Ambulance arrangements can be made and begin within 2 to 4 hours. If the transfer is an international Air Ambulance, there are many controlling factors that determine how quickly the aircraft can be dispatched. Bed to Bed service is when the medical team from the train ambulance or Air Ambulance will go to the discharging hospital to meet the patient in their room, do an assessment of the patient and comfort them about the transfer. They then travel with the patient in the ground ambulance to the train or aircraft. The same process takes place at the arrival city where the medical team travels with the patient to the receiving hospital. They will provide a briefing for the receiving hospital doctor. This provides continuity of care for the entire transfer.

 

Q. Can a loved one or companion accompany the patient on the train ambulance or Air Ambulance?

In train ambulance usually 2-3 accompanying members can travel with a patient. For Air Ambulance, depending on the aircraft and the patient’s medical condition 1 to 3 accompanying members can travel with the patient.

 

Q. What is required to arrange an Air Ambulance transfer?
